Good to know
The Serra de Tramuntana runs along Mallorca's northwest coast and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape in 2011. Its villages—Valldemossa, Deià, Sóller and Alaró among them—mix stone houses, terraced olive groves and dramatic sea and mountain views.
- Valldemossa's Carthusian monastery, where Chopin and George Sand spent the winter of 1838–39, and the poet Robert Graves's house in Deià are both open to visitors.
- A historic wooden train links Sóller with Palma, and the GR 221 Dry Stone Route crosses the range for walkers.
- Mountain roads are narrow and winding, and some villas are reached by private tracks: ask us about access before you book.

Who the Tramuntana suits
- Walkers: the waymarked GR 221 Dry Stone Route crosses the range, and Cúber to Biniaraix is a signed 10.7 km walk of medium difficulty.
- Culture and food lovers: the Royal Charterhouse in Valldemossa, Robert Graves's house in Deià, and MICHELIN Guide restaurants in Sóller, Deià and Port de Sóller.
- Families who want an easy beach base: Port de Sóller has calm harbour water and serviced beaches.
Beaches and coves
- Port de Sóller (Es Través): An 800 m harbour beach of sand and fine pebbles with calm water, showers, accessible walkways and beach watch.
- Platja d'en Repic, Port de Sóller: A sand-and-gravel beach in the sheltered harbour, with loungers, parasols and lifeguards.
- Cala de Deià: A small cove where the Torrent Major meets the sea, with fishing moorings and two places to eat.
- Port des Canonge, Banyalbufar: Coarse sand and stones with no beach services; the last 6 km of road are winding.
Towns and sights
- Valldemossa: The Royal Charterhouse, a Carthusian monastery from 1399, where Chopin and George Sand stayed in 1838-39.
- Deià: Ca n'Alluny, Robert Graves's home from 1929 to 1985, and Son Marroig, the Archduke Ludwig Salvador's estate above Sa Foradada.
- Sóller and Port de Sóller: A citrus valley linked to Palma by the historic train (since 1912) and to its port by tram (since 1913).

Frequently asked questions
How many villas are in this collection?
11 villas, read from the live Azul Stays inventory on 2026-10-20.
How much do these villas cost?
Stored starting prices range from €2,054 to €12,997 per night. The exact total depends on your dates and is shown on each villa page.
How do I book one of these villas?
Open a villa and send a booking request with your dates: no payment is needed and the team confirms availability and the total in writing. Villas with a live calendar also show availability and can be booked online with an optional 25% deposit.
Do I need a car when staying in a villa here?
For most villas, yes. Many are outside town centres and public transport is limited away from the main towns. Ask us and we can add a rental car to your request.
Is Port de Sóller a good beach day for children?
Yes. Es Través is a sand-and-fine-pebble beach inside the harbour, with calm water, accessible walkways, showers and beach watch.
Can we get around Sóller without driving?
Yes. The historic railway links Palma and Sóller, and the tram connects Sóller with Port de Sóller. A car is still useful for the mountain villages and coves.
Where is a signed walk for a mixed group?
The GR 221 Dry Stone Route has signed sections across the range. Cúber to Biniaraix is an official 10.7 km route of medium difficulty, and the Castell d'Alaró walk is rated easy to medium.
